Oscar Wilde like you’ve never seen before!

Bristol-based Tobacco Tea Theatre Company announces new show dates for Bunbury Is Dead.

2-14, 16-23rd August at Café Camino, Edinburgh 6:15pm

Bunbury Is Dead is a brand new fringe comedy from Tobacco Tea Theatre Company, made from the wit and works of Oscar Wilde. Composed almost entirely of material from Wilde’s major works rearranged to form all-new dialogue, Bunbury Is Dead is a fast-paced, hilarious hour of twisted logic, high farce and the inimitable wit of Oscar Wilde. Playing this summer in Bath, Bristol and at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Bunbury Is Dead is written and directed by Christopher Cutting; as a Wildean he couldn’t resist the chance to experiment with Oscar’s greatest works. This show has been an absolute dream to work on, he says. The cast is extraordinary and everyone who’s seen it loves it. We’ve got an extremely exciting future ahead of us and I’m proud to be part of something that’s as sharp and funny as this.

Bunbury Is Dead was previewed at The Bierkeller Theatre back in February and since then Christopher has been working on a new edit of the script.

Tobacco Tea is a Bristol-based theatre company specialising in comedy of manners and satire. From the Ancient Greek Menander to Shakespeare comedies, Restoration Comedy to eighteenth and nineteenth-century wits such as Sheridan and Wilde to Noel Coward, modern-day absurdity and brand new plays by contemporary playwrights, their aim is to bring the comedy of manners roaring back into the heart of British theatre.

Starting the company from the ground up only last year, Tobacco Tea have already won themselves audience acclaim and a spot at the Edinburgh Fringe. We’re doing something no one else is, and doing something audiences love. Everyone wants to have a good laugh – Tobacco Tea will give you a great one.
